My name is Jens, and I’ve been playing roleplaying games since the late 1980s, starting with Das Schwarze Auge and soon after the red box of Dungeons & Dragons. I’ve explored many systems over the years, always tinkering and writing for my own tables.
Most of that writing—house rules, campaign notes, strange relics, and unsettling encounters—stayed private. Now I’m finally ready to share some of it.
When I’m not designing or playing games, I work as a media designer and digital printer in a major printing department within the German civil service. Outside of work, my family keeps me busy, and in quieter moments I turn to films (mostly pre‑2000) and books. My favourite authors include Raymond Chandler, Ross Macdonald, and M. R. James, whose sense of atmosphere and creeping dread has shaped my tastes.
This blog brings all of that together: decades of gaming, a love of folk horror, and a long habit of writing in the shadows—now brought into the light.
